American high-alpha hop, a classic among the modern hop strains. Slovenian hop from the district of Bobek with pleasant aromatics and bittterness. A relative to the Goldings variety but with a more powerful hoppyness in it's character. Aramis is an aroma hop from the Alsace region in France. Crossed in 2002, Aramis is a product of Strisselspalt and Whitbread Golding and was in fact the very first variety to come from the Comptoir Agricole breeding program. It inherited Strisselspalt’s excellent aromas while providing a more plentiful and stable bittering quality.It is sweet and spicy, citrusy and herby. The measure of its aroma and alpha characteristics make it appropriate for any and all kettle stages. Australian Astra's first commercial harvest was in 2016, Astra is the newest graduate from the Ellerslie Hop breeding program. Was originally called Equinox but the name was changed to Equanot in 2017. Ekuanot, formerly Equinox, is known for bringing a complex array of aromas and flavors to the brew pot. First Gold is yet another hop variety bred at Wye College. This is the first commercially grown "dwarf" variety, and it is bred from Whitbread Golding Variety. Galena is the result of an open pollination of Brewer's Gold and was released in 1978 in the USA. It is one of the most common bittering hops in the United States even today. HBC 472 is an experimental hop bred and produced by the Hop Breeding Company (HBC) in Yakima Valley Washington and is the result of an open pollination of wild American hop varieties also better known as a subspecies of neomexicanus. HBC 472 has a special flavor profile that has generated great interest among brewers with a combination of cream, vanilla and woody notes along with Citrus. The taste in the finished product is described more as coconut, barrel aged & whiskey.
