A high alpha variety with a good aroma. The bitterness is soft, thanks to the low cohumulone content. In late additions, Rakau gives aromas of tropical fruit, such as peach and passion fruit. The Bucket Blaster from Kegland is a great way to get your kegs, fermenters, fermzilla, carboy's or other brewery gear clean while you attend to other tasks. Take the work out of cleaning cornelius kegs, carboys and brewing vessels with the bucket blaster. Simply set up the keg washer basin with your cleaner or sanitiser, set a keg or carboy on over the jet nozzle, power up pump and let the keg washer do the work.  This unit comes with a 15L bucket which doubles as a storage container when you are not using the system.  Some other keg washers come with a very small reservoir making it a pain to move, liquid spils over the sides easily and generally they just do not work as well.  This unit has a large 15L bucket making it much less likely for you to spil liquid on your floor. PBW (Powdered Brewery Wash) is a buffered alkaline cleaner with active oxygen and exemplary cleaning capacity. It is safe to use and harms neither you, the environment nor the equipment. PBW is at least as effective as caustic soda but is completely free of its negative features. PBW is used by breweries for CIP (Cleaning in Place) and is also very popular among home-brewers. Recommended dosage for home-brewers is 2 oz per 5 gallons, or 57 g per 19 litres, or 0.3%. This corresponds to 2 tbsp per 10 litres. Breweries usually use 1-2 oz per gallon, or 0.75-1.5%, depending on degree of contamination. For lighter cleaning a lower concentration will suffice. Recommended contact time is 30 minutes for mashing, sparging and boiling vessels and barrels, and 5-10 minutes for hoses. Longer contact time than three hours can be dangerous to the equipment and especially plastic details which are much more sensitive than steel and glass. Recommended temperature: PBW can be used in a cold solution, but is more effective at higher temperatures. However, do not exceed 70 °C. Rinse with water afterwards.
