Nectaron/Hort 4337 is an aroma hop from New Zeeland's Plant & Food Research. It's a sister to Waimea and it's intensive in its tropical fruitiness. We had the pleasure of tasting a brew made with Hort 4337 at the brewery exhibition in Germany 2019 and the hop really was tropical, dominated by passion fruit and citrus.Nectaron will be excellently suited for all modern beer styles in which you want a distinct fruitiness, for example in APA and IPA. Described as “breathtaking”, Nelson Sauvin has the unique ability to impart a distinctive cool climate white wine “fruitiness” that brings the grape sauvignon blanc to mind. Pacific Jade Hops 50g
The aroma of this hop is described as “bold” as it delivers a herbal infusion of fresh citrus and crushed black pepper. Brewing trials have illustrated Pacific Jade as an excellent hop that delivers a pleasing soft bitterness matched to desirable aroma characteristics.Brewer’s notes: Suited for use as a bittering hop with some excellent results also being seen in dual purpose applications, with a soft bitterness attributable to the low cohumulone. The citrus aroma and flavour notes work well to temper malt sweetness in “fullish” Ales especially when used moderately as a finishing hop. Pilgrim Hops 50g
Pilgrim is considered round and full bodied with classic English-style bitterness, its complex flavor and aroma have been likened to grassy herbs, grapefruit citrus, berries and pears right through to spice, cedar and honey.It has good storage stability, an excellent yield potential and resistance to wilt and mildew. Pilgrim is a true all-purpose hop, great in the boil from beginning to end.Pilgrim’s siblings, First Gold and Herald are both dwarf hop varieties, Pilgrim however is not. A cultivar of Wye College, England, Pilgram displays first-rate bittering qualities in addition to favorable aroma and flavor characteristics. Riwaka Hops 50g 2025
Riwaka smells strongly of passion fruit and citrus with elements of coniferous forest. Riwaka is the archetype for how New Zeeland Hop Character is defined.Unfortunately the Riwaka plants yields a very small harvest which combined with the high demand is the reason why we haven't been able to procure it for many years.Riwaka is excellent for when you want a distinct fruitiness, for example in an APA or IPA. It's also suitable for modern lager and saison.Riwaka, previously called D-Saaz, was developed by New Zeeland hop development program "Hops with a difference" in 1997 by crossbreeding Saaz with a couple of domestic hops. It quickly grew to be one of New Zeelands favorite hops, which is easy to understand once you've brewed with it. Saaz Hops 50g 2024
Saaz is one of the four original Noble hops and has a distinctive and classic aroma. Known for its prominent use in Stella Artois and countless Bohemian Lagers and Pilsners. Its warm, herbal character stems from a high level of farnesene while its other oils are in fair balance.With such a low alpha acid percentage, Saaz is inarguably an aroma hop, however, when used as an early addition it is thought to add a delicate bitterness. Simcoe Hops 50g 2024
Simcoe is best characterized as having a pronounced pine or woodsy aroma with bright citrus flavors (blood orange) with earthy undertones, aromas of grapefruit and herbs.
